4130 Off-Season

Hey all,

Just thought I would share a neat topic. After being a finalist at the Detroit World Championship, my team decided that it may be a good idea to let our freshman class create their own robot to compete at off-season events. Of course, with the permission of the event. We had more money left over than anticipated and we thought it would be a good experience for our younger team members. In the link below on IMGUR you can see both robots side by side (the one on the right is the one that we actually used in the 2018 season) and the one on the left is the robot that they built. They competed at ROBOCON in Michigan, and will both be competing at MARC next weekend. We thought that this was a great experience for our early students since our whole drive team and main robot builders were all seniors. They ran through it exactly like a build season, except we only have them two weeks instead of six since the evaluation of the game and the design concept was already done for them. Let me know what you all think and feel free to ask questions.

Here are some more images of their hook and pull away option added this week.
