426 penalized high score (64 un-penalized)

With this one simple trick, you too can obtain new high scores!

Looks like people have already discovered that trick.

this is jarring without context

I wasn’t at that event but I would guess its somebody playing around with the fms its just not possible to get penalties that fast this year.

What is a FMS?

Yo original poster of the 1264 score (Muskegon) - one of the FTAs was messing around to see how many penalties he could add

Gotta test the systems to account for all the extension contact fouls.

Field Management System. It’s just practice; often field volunteers will “experiment”. I’ve had several fun “foul races” with other refs on how fast we can click the panel buttons (warned teams first). It’s actually a good way to get a feel for the UI so you can do it without looking down during real matches.

anyone have a video of this match?

This old news…we did this back in 2005 during a match (score keeper error)

Yeah but that’s only 10 major fouls that year…

(If I recall fouls were 10 or 30 points that year)

So this all for fun? (foul race??) or is this an actual penalized match that was played…

That was during a actual match in Semi final 1-3 at VCU in Richmond that year…Penalty points were only supposed to be 30 but the score keeper made a mistake and as luck would have it someone
got a screen shot of it and the rest is history. See this old thread…pic: Oh... the penalties!

A post or two pop up like this every year. It’s just event staff having some fun and messing around with FMS and seeing how many fouls they can manage to input in a match.

While the initial screenshot in the first post doesn’t explicitly say “practice match” (it’s cutoff), you can also tell this is a practice match, as there are no rankings displayed for the teams.
