Hello friends,
As some know Team 4329 (Lutheran Roboteers of St. Charles) has lost our lead mentor and known volunteer Dave Zilz. We as a team brought closure over the past week as we recognized the good he did in life after his unexpected passing. We mourn him dearly but we have come to a point to try and figure out our future. We thank you friends who recognize the things he did in the FIRST community and how he started our team and inspired us to keep on going. Our team will take time to heal but that does not mean we will not be on the field, soon enough we will be back building robots to compete and inspire students just like how he inspired our team over 11 years. I would also like to thank those who offered help and we are honored to see the generosity of the community that has been built up over so many years.
I intend also to finish up our Open Alliance registration to get back on that and show our build season and how we are operating and working through a very weird time. He liked how I started posting there and what I was first sharing in 2022 and I intend to make him proud by sharing our story with the rest of FIRST, in honor of the principles we see around us.
If you have any questions or comments you wish to say I can relay these to the team and do my best to answer as a student and as a person who has known Mr. Zilz for 11 years, since the start of team 4329.
Sincerely,
Kraig Sheck
