The video below is longer than the one they showed live, but when the video was playing I thought “I wonder if this kid is on an FRC team,” and about 10 seconds later I saw the drive team buttons on his backpack!
So how long until we see machine learning running on robots?

IIRC 900 and a few other teams have already incorporated machine learning into their vision algorithms. I also vaguely remember some team discussing using machine learning to teach the robot autonomous routines, but I don’t remember if it was actually implemented or not. Either way, it’s not that far off.
2898 did a talk on NN and maching learning at Houston Champs from what I was told. Example Video
This kid is a prime example of who we want in the program, and it’s super cool the recognition he got, both for him and for FIRST. Let’s see about that Dean’s List
