1885 & 1731 look forward to seeing everyone there!

We are pleased to announce that 116, a 2015 Control System BETA Test team, will attend IROC! They plan to bring a demo, literature, and answers to some of our pressing questions.

We are up to 13 teams, and are looking for a few more. I understand there are two other close by events on either neighboring weekend, yet there are still quite a few local teams who haven’t registered.

We will use standard rules for IROC this year.

Team 612 will be there! We are excited to compete with all these great teams.

I wish our two events didn’t end up stuck back to back, school sports schedules suck! We’ll miss being there this year.

Couldn’t sell all of 422 on a back to back to back slate of 5AM wakeups on Saturdays in the fall. Good luck guys!

Yea, I’m sorry about the back-to-back. We had to get IROC out of November since it’s in the middle of FLL season for VA and in the middle of several other events. The school gave us two dates, and this was the best one at the time.

We’ll take a light event this year so it’s less stress all around, then try to find a better date next year. Still haven’t heard from 6 teams who typically come and are within 25 miles, so we may still get a full field.

Good luck in the Roads!

A couple of announcements:

  • IROC will be streamed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mn2D48WRS8
  • We will also have a special aerial robot demonstration during the lunch break.
  • It looks like we will have 17 teams in attendance. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Regards,
Jesse

Best wishes this weekend to our friends to the south. The back-to-back is a challenge, but this is always a great event. We are grateful for the support we got last Sat. from the teams and the volunteers.
Go Teams!

Are the results posted anywhere?

I hope everything went well up in the northern part of the state this past weekend. We are sorry we could not make it.

It did! We had 16 teams compete, 2v2 in elims. The day went fairly smoothly overall.

In the end, 339 Kilroy and 612 Chantilly took home the trophy. 339 spent much of the day dialing in their shooter, which was slow but very consistent in the end. 612 put up massive defense by quickly zipping around the field and getting in the way of things.

Thank you to all of the teams who competed!

Next year we plan to expand the collaborative effort of planning the event, including (potentially) a new venue, new name and more teams!

Regards,
Jesse

Wish we at 4464 could have made it, but lack of manpower and how soon after BOB it was made it unfeasible. Hope to be there next year!

Don’t mean to bump an old thread but I took some video from IROC that I finally got around to uploading. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK0jYhbqGLM

This is the first round of the Quarter Final matches shot with my iPhone 4S with the Hyperlapse app. It makes for some interesting time lapse footage of the matches.
