Then again, my dorm is a special building on campus built on shaker supports. This building houses the multidisciplinary earthquake research center. I’m just lucky they haven’t decided to perform earthquake simulations with the building in the middle of the night.
Did not feel a thing here on Long Island. Did not even know much about there being an earthquake untill I look here on Chief Delphi. Just another reason to read everything on Cheif Delphi.
same here. i think that may be why i woke up just after 7 though. i was in a deep sleep, and then i woke up, and it was like, 7:01. i couldn’t fall back asleep. now i think i know why i woke up, although i don’t remember feeling any earthquake.
I’m embarassed to say that was the smallest earthquake that I ever woke up for. I grew up in Los Angeles, and only moved to Rochester this past year to go to school. I had previously made a habit of sleeping through magnitude 6+ earthquakes.
Felt it in CT! My mom thought I was moving furniture in my room or something but WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I BE AWAKE @ 6:55 in the morning when it happened?
