This year, inspired by 2022 Open Alliance build threads Berkelium pushed ourselves to go through multiple iterations. With that goal in mind, we were able to go beyond what we had in the past, and what I thought was possible for our team and designed a robot that performed pretty well for us and scored points in a way that allowed for a lot of software tuning and mechanically straightforward and incredibly robust systems. It was also a ton of fun to see work, and we got some pretty cool reactions from the crowd.

in Sacramento 2019, 2551 picked 5419 and brought us into our 1st playoff, where we finished in the semifinals, and every regional since we have finished in the same position until Sacramento 2023 where we broke our streak alongside 2551. A big thanks to 2551 and 5458 for their awesome play, and to 254 and 1678 for helping us out with the comms issue that has been plaguing us since the start of the season!

Post-Season Highlights

  • Milstein
    • 4th pick of 2nd seed 3655, 1st place finish with 6672 and 5895
    • Division Winner
  • Einstein
    • Autonomous worked on a new field
  • 5419 will be attending Chezy Champs, CalGames, and MadTown and building two offseason robots

5419 had a very exciting opportunity to go to champs, and it was certainly the experience of a lifetime. We are very proud to take home our first blue banner, made possible by our excellent alliance captain 3655 and partners 6672 and 5859!

Last but not least, Berkelium would like to thank Team 1868 for inviting us to practice with them, and Team 841 for giving us plenty of parts, field time, and advice, and to all the other teams at competitions and the ones we met while traveling, we had a great time with y’all! Good luck and see you next year!

Loved watching y’all achieve excellence this year. In particular I admire the full commitment to consistency and incremental improvement within the robot “as is”.

Congratulations on your excellent season, Berkelium! It was an absolute blast to have you on our alliance on Milstein, and there’s no way we would have gotten to Einstein without 5419 coming in cold for finals 3 and putting in a fantastic performance.

Looking forward to seeing what 5419 gets up to next.

Congratulations on the incredible season! It was an absolute blast getting to play with y’all in Canada, and Milstein had to be my absolute favorite alliance to cheer on during Einstein’s. I loved how mechanically simple and robust your robot was this year, and I can’t wait to see what you cook up in the offseason.

(Sidenote: I don’t think I could ever forget this moment <3)

Best of luck, and congrats again on the division win and your first blue banner!

Love this robot.

It was a pleasure working with you on Milstein. Very few teams can show up, as you did, in Division Finals and make 10 Game Pieces look easy.
