We need your help to participate in the FIRST Robotics Championships in St.Louis, Missouri, April 26th- May 1st!
We are a rookie team from New York, UASGC RoboSquad 5891 and we need your help! We would be really thankful for any kind of donation and support from you!
You are probably(definitely) not going to find any financial help here. Everyone here is trying to fund their own trip there. Your best bet after asking your school is to find corporate sponsors. I know that there are plenty of corporations in NYC that would sponsor you guys. I also believe NYC doe cte helps teams out do not quote me on that.
If you need help finding money or anything else pm me. See you guys at worlds.
Don’t let that stop you from trying.
When IndianaFIRST was involved in the Brackets For Good campaign, lots of #friendsWithRobots stepped up from across the country, probably because of their chiefdelphi campaign.
Good luck and hope to see you in STL!
You shouldn’t speak for the entire forum. How do you “definitely” know no one on the entirety of chief delphi is interested in helping out this awesome rookie all star team make it to Champs in their first year. I also disagree that every person here is trying to fund their trip to St. Louis as well.
They are working very hard with businesses around NYC and with their few current sponsors but don’t have quite enough. Every dollar helps. Let’s not discourage a team from something others have found success with in the past.
With that said, RoboSquad was one of the most deserving teams of Rookie All Star at the NYC Regional that I have ever seen.
Not only were they the SECOND pick of the entire NYC regional with their impressive low bar bot where they helped the 2 seed make it to semi-finals but they already fully envision the mission of FIRST along with a scary organized team structure. Feats I could have only dreamed of in our first year as a team.
I wish you guys the best of luck in your road to championships.
I never meant to be discouraging. Also I noticed you donated $25 (I’m pretty sure that’s you) and I amend you for that.
The bottom line is they need a fair amount of money. Money that they can find with sponsors. Which Is why I offered to help them find them.
Personal donations through things like gofundme are great. But, when you need thousands of dollars it gets difficult.
Once again I can and will help you guys if you desire. I realize getting the needed funding is difficult especially if you do not have much experience getting sponsors.
Sorry if I sounded rude in my first post that was definitely not my intention at all. I was simply trying to point out that this why not be the best poa.
Just want to clarify, that the RoboTigers account is not run though me. I donated on my own before even seeing this post. Anything I post will be thorough my own account.
Almost $2700 currently. That is pretty impressive and tells you how much of a following FIRST robotics has in social media. This is our teams first year going to world’s as well.
I know that donations to schools are tax-deductible, but I don’t know if doing it through GoFundMe eliminates that advantage. Anyone have info on that?
If anyone wanted to make a considerable donation which would require a tax deduction contacting the team to get a tax notice would be the best and sending the money directly to the team instead of through gofundme. The team can also put in the donation into gofundme as a offline donation.
