MOE 365 is again organizing a 5K Robot Run (for people, not robots) as a fundraiser, an opportunity for teams needing to raise more funds before Championships, and for those who want to participate in additional activities with other teams in our region. The 3rd Annual 5K Robot Run/Walk will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the beautiful Riverfront on the banks of the Christiana River in Wilmington, Delaware. Teams can get flat rate pledges, pledges per mile, donations for participation; whatever form of sponsorship works best for you.
It is run on an established USATF certified course which means that it really counts for those more serious runners and walkers. Although our focus is on robotic team affiliations, participation is also very much open to the general public. As such, this is a great opportunity to educate others outside our small robotics community on the benefits, rewards and glory of being involved in programs like FLL, JFLL, FTC, and FRC. There will be t-shirts for all participants, awards for overall winners and top three finishers in specific age groups (see registration application), robotics displays and demonstrations, and post event refreshments.
So, if you are in the general DE area come on down! Flyers and more information can be found on our website, www.moe365.org.
P.S. Rumor is that John Mr MOE Larock will be actually running the race this year! You can’t miss that!
