6" Colson Wheels

We’ve been working on a robot to compete in offseason events this summer, and we’re hoping to try some bigger wheels than we have in the past. We like the Colson wheels that Vex sells (we’ve used them for the past two years), and we were hoping to find some 6" wheels of a similar style to try - the idea is that it will make it easier to get over the cable tracks on the field with bigger wheels.

Colson sells 6" wheels, but I haven’t had any luck finding them in the style that Vex has. I know I probably won’t be able to find something with the nice hex bores and hubs that Vex has, but anything that we can broach to 1/2" hex or stick hubs in is fine.

Does anyone have any experience using these? Where can we find them online?

You can pair these http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-co4-6-446.html

with these https://www.vexrobotics.com/colsonhubs-g.html (Live hub)

We used the 5x1.5 Colsons and they worked pretty well. You have to be careful when pressing the hubs in as if they are not properly aligned you can accidentally wreck a wheel. We ended up switched to thinner ones with custom hubs however due to weight.

I found some 6" Colson wheels on Amazon that should be compatible with the VexPro Colson Live Hubs (217-3430).

Here are the links to the wheels I found:

We used 8" Colson wheels with the VexPro Live Hubs this year, and the hubs worked great. The wheels were a bit tight for the hubs, but we were able to get the hubs in.
