Being Team Captain and our team having a large cart, last year I decided to make a fun way to test your team for determining your future Technician, this year we will be doing this again. To begin with if your cart has anything you want to protect on the front of it, I would suggest removing the sign or such that you have on the front end and place pool noodles on the front structure or simply just secure something to protect your cart from any damage on the cart for the safety of it. On top of this you have the general drive team testing you would normally have which stands as a priority first. Enough of me babbling on, here it is everyone!
I think…having a technician that actually knows your own robot would probably be a better metric than having them do an obstacle course? Sounds like fun though.
Yes a technician that knows the robot is a better metric, never had a problem with this since they know that part of the rule as of technician role however we just used this since we had such a heavy robot cart that we liked so much we would never build a new one due to expense of it and the time to rebuild so we just trained people to not run over people and be prepared for the unexpected
