A local team in FiM this past weekend after winning the walled lake event and qualifying for states unfortunately was rear ended on the freeway and their trailer was rolled with everything inside being destroyed except the robot. They are raising funds for MSC registration and new tools to get them back on their feet. Link below is available to donate. Thanks for all your help.
My understanding is that the trailer belonged to the school so it is probably covered. However, the team lost nearly everything else in the accident. Batteries, chargers, driver station, etc. Pits were destroyed, tool boxes etc. The team is going to home depot as a group to see if they can request sponsorship to get some kind of work bench for their pits.
This is a very small team with a very limited budget. A number of our alumni work with them. We’re getting together some of our spares and other things they can use - but they definitely need help.
The trailer was owned by the school and shared with the school band. We salvaged everything we could off of the freeway and have been making the repairs needed to the robot and cart. We have had a toolbox donated but are missing random tools and parts as they were thrown in the trailer and all over I-696. Any help is appreciated and all the help we have received has been appreciated in an indescribable way. We will be at states and will be competing.
If there is anything you need at states, we’ll be happy to help! We are bringing the machine shop for our division, so we will have plenty of tools and supplies.
If the other 159 teams at MSC each donated $63, they’d have their $10k… How about showing the CyberStangs what gracious professionalism and the spirit of coopertition are about??
