Hi there! I’ve loved your robot since the reveal, but I have been wondering… how are you guys tilting your shooter? It is a lead screw or something like pistons or a motor? Great work, by the way. This is quite an amazing machine.
Did you really pick up a Boulder by driving over it “backwards” so it did not get pulled in by your intake mechanism at about 1:20?
Yes we drove over the boulder backwards until it was past the front of the robot, where the intake then grabs the boulder and loads the shooter.
That is certainly a useful feature. Was that part of the design or was that a happy accident?
It is certainly better than the robot we saw at Bayou that got stuck on top of a Boulder (the Soft Terrain?) for quite a while it was supposed to be playing defense against us. I think only one of their wheels would just touch the carpet so the kept spinning on top of the Boulder.
