Could someone from 870 send me drawings of their drill motor mounts? I saw them and thought that they were awesome. I talked to one of your mentors about the robot during unpack and he was saying that they were machined out of extrusion. If you could get me the drawings from autodesk, pdf, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Aaron
Private messages are best for things that will only benefit yourself, but now that we have a thread out of it, how about they share the mount drawings with everyone? I know I’d like to see too.
me three, we used the plastic housings from the kit this year, but i’d be interested in how to do it without that.
We will by happy to share the motor mount plans as soon as they arrive with the crate from Atlanta.
We will have to put them into proper format for all to use.
In the mean time we will dig up some pics for the discussion.
Thanks. I cant wait to see the drawings, dimensions, etc. Your bot was awesome and used some awesome designs. We got our crate back yesterday. I got an email from one of our mentor’s that said the crate was there before I left my dorm. It really surprised me that it was already there.

Mmm… drill motor mounts you say?
Are we talking about the mount for just the motor, or the motor AND the provided geabox? Err… from the posts I’m guessing its both the motor and the geabox. Darn… but if I’m wrong, or if anyone is interested in JUST motor mounts for the drill, I’d be happy to post a pic of how I did it for MVRT’s (115) swivel drive. Hmmm… I should maybe start a new thread on this topic…
I would say post them here. You have caught my attention.
870 did a really nice mount for the drill motor and provided gearbox for it. It was made out of a large piece of extrusion (dont know what series) and it worked as a great heatsink since it was aluminum. It solved multiple problems associated with the plastic mounts. You have me interested now and I’d be interested in seeing a thread/post on yours.

we also built custom motor mounts for the drill motors and the transmissions. I know we lent one to 1315 when there transmission failed.
Hey…here’s the pics of our motormount…I’ll be taking more as soon as I can get a chance and we will post also post up a drawing either pdf or cad or both.
That is really trick. More pics and specs please PLEASE! Thanks.
Chris,
Very pretty, I always liked aluminum extrusions, nice job anchoring the wires as well.
