It’s always a treat to get a peek behind the curtain of one of my favorite teams!

I’m curious: it looks like a flywheel shooter is being prototyped here. At what point (and for what reason) did the team decide to depart from that and field a catapult? Were the two prototyped in parallel, or did one come before the other?

You were really paying attention when you watched the video.

The flywheel shooter and catapult were prototyped in parallel. Around the end of the first week, we decided on the catapult, believing it would: 1) be less susceptible to variations in ball inflation pressure and surface wear, 2) provide the opportunity for full software control over shot parameters such as exit angle and velocity. The primary consideration was shot accuracy.
