A Comment

Has anyone noticed how ridiculously out-of-hand reasonable adults become on these forums when someone touches a nerve? The laws possibly restricting a Segway’s use caused a flurry of insults when the legitimacy of the article was questioned on other forums.
Anyone remember A Question on Sportsmanship? A simple comment fueled a fierce debate about the rules, gracious professionalism, and what’s fair.

I do not wish for this thread to debate these (and other) topics, but instead be the basis of reform. If anyone wishes to point out more examples, please do so in a way that does not place blame.

(and add “Segway’s” to spell check)

ahh yes… well, not just adults… whatever that means… just some people…anyone on the forums… well i suppose everyone has their grumpy days. sooo maybe an easy way to tell that “offensive” person. somehow, replying to their “offensive” posts directly doesnt seem to work tooo well… so im guessing thats what causes it to build up even more. so yeah, back to what i was saying. instead of replying in the thread, or pming them, maybe just a “yellow flag” or “red flag” people can give them. completely separate from the rep system, and unable to give with comments. must be a no comment thing because it might escalate them… so just to let the “offensive” person notice that what they are doing might be “offensive” people dont want to be “offensive” its probably when they’re tired or whatever they just dont notice or realize what theyre doing. so just to let them realize thyre “offensive”…wait am i repeating myself again? :stuck_out_tongue:
oh well, hehe, thats another sideeffect of being tired

Here’s an example that “struck a nerve” with me.

Come to think of it, the premise of this thread touches my ridiculously beyond control button.
