A Short Summary of Every Team to Qualify for The Pacific Northwest District Championship

After reading some comments on my post I would have to agree that my recap was too harsh to some teams. It did not show gracious professionalism in a way that FIRST is about. I apologize to those teams who I unfairly criticized and would like to thank Jean for pointing it out.
I have written another summary that I call “One Awesome Thing About Each Team to Qualify for PNW District Champs.”

360: Talented defensive drivers have shown the ability to slow down some of the best robots in the district.

492: This team continues to create the best mecanum drive robots in the district.

948: They can do whatever they need to, their flexibility makes them an enviable alliance partner.

997: They can cycle cargo well and they have one of the most unique hatch manipulators in the district.

1318: Creative climber that is very fun to watch.

1425: Turrets are fun to watch, this robot has a lot of potential.

1540: Extremely fast cycle times, watching this robot work is incredible.

1899: Always a creative use of carpentry on this teams robots.

1983: Possibly the most consistent robot in the district.

2046: Extremely dominant robot, one of the best in the district.

2097: BBQ and High Tide watch out! This revival team also has looked good in their first competitive season.

2147: Dominates the low cargo, possibly more than any other team in the PNW.

2412: Pretty good at cargo and climbing, and they may have outscored 2910 in a finals match

2471: Extremely high potential robot with a swerve and high level capabilities, overall looks great.

2521: Very good cargo ability with a unique and interesting strap mechanism as well as a two panel sandstorm mode.

2522: Underrated bot that could be one of the best in the district.

2557: Agile swerve drive shows very high cycling potential

2733: Extremely good hatch capabilities, could easily fill a rocket with the right partner.

2898: This team led their alliance to a huge upset at the CAIS event with their good hatch and cargo abilities.

2907: Other than the fact that it is one of the coolest robots to look at, they cycle cargo with the best of them.

2910: Incredible swerve drive, fills up the lower levels as well as anyone in the world.

2915: Very consistent robot that scores cargo well, and will always be a good alliance partner.

2928: Possibly the only team to successfully defend juggernaut 2910 and their swerve.

2930: Good at cycling, good at climbing, two blue banners is never a bad thing.

2976: their dual sticks cargo collector is quite unique, and quite effective.

2980: Part of the sideways lift gang this team has a unique cargo collector to pair.

2990: Fast cycler, low level bot, they do what they do very well.

3024: Excellent swerve drive, can move across the field very quickly, and evades defenders well.

3223: Cycles well and climbs. This team has one of the nicest drive teams that I’ve talked to.

3574: They can do hatches well and climb, the perfect compliment to any cargo based robot.

3588: Good cycler with a cool claw/arm mechanism.

3636: Excellent cargo bot that has been overlooked at their first two events, including helping a number 7 alliance take home a blue banner.

3663: This team build a good swerve drive, and has shown more potential than almost any other PNW team.

3674: Very good robot that has been a winner and a finalist. Their consistency in cargo delivery may be unmatched.

3711: Consistent climb and good at cargo, this team is the perfect choice for an offensive third robot.

3786: One of the most unlucky teams in the district, this team is probably the most underrated based on OPR data in the district.

3826: A lot of hard work was put into this robot throughout competition season, this team is probably the most improved at the event.

4043: Perfect execution of a simple robot, this team’s season should be exemplified as proof that you don’t need to be an extremely high resource team in order to build an incredible robot.

4057: Unique hatch placement as well as a very fun climber.

4060: They have my favorite level two climber that I have seen this season.

4061: Cool full arm mechanism is good at scoring cargo.

4125: Small robot that cycles quickly, also, their team members are a joy to talk to.

4131: A unique baton collector has helped this team be one of the most underrated cargo bots in the region.

4309: “Rampy Boi” has my vote for the best robot name, plus, ramps are always beloved by all.

4469: Their suction cup climb is one of the coolest in the world, and quite effective too.

4488: Everybody loves turrets, especially those that have automated hatch placement systems, also they have a cool climbing mechanism that made my job as official scorer a bit difficult.

4512: This team has been building better and better robots each year, expect this trend to continue in 2020.

4513: This team has improved its robot greatly from a late second rounder to the second overall pick.

4579: The perfect second robot, supporting two alliances into finals.

4692: Not enough people are talking about this team. They are good at everything they do, a quality valued in an alliance partner.

4911: One of the best cyclers in the region, they have once again built a top notch robot, it’s a shame that nobody really knows who they are

4980: They have a fun to watch legged climb.

5085: A simple-yet-effective robot that played a major role in helping their alliance to a blue banner at Wilsonville.

5198: Probably the most skilled defensive drive teams in the region, bonus points for playing defense in a clean and fair manner.

5468: They can score hatches pretty well, but their beefy drive train allows them to push teams across the field like they aren’t even there.

5588: Every year this team does one thing very well, and this year was no exception, very solid hatch bot.

5803: Very good cycle bot with an interesting climb in which they glide up the HAB.

5827: Don’t let their rank at Glacier Peak fool you, this team is much better than it may look.

5937: Very good execution of an everybot like design, epitomizes KISS.

6443: Defense and climbing, two things that have defined this year’s game, and two things that this team has excelled at. Also, their climber is a joy to watch.

6445: Silky smooth at cycling cargo, one of the most satisfying robots to watch in the district.

6845: Possibly the most underrated team in the district, they can cycle cargo and hatches into levels two and three as well as almost anyone.

7034: Very unique design in which its arm passes through itself. This high potential robot also wins the “That’s a lot of triangles” award.

7776: Rookies! Everybody loves rookies. Also, this team has a good offensive capability that I didn’t know about.
