A small Blurb about team 2511

FIRST Robotics Team
The FIRST Robotics team received a $10,000 sponsorship from St. Jude Medical. $6,000 will be applied toward a “kit” of robotics components and controllers as well as the team’s participation in the regional competition this spring. The balance will be available for acquiring additional parts, tools and materials that are not included in the startup kit.

Along with Industrial Tech teacher, Steve Ullrich, ten LSHS engineering students attended a FIRST Robotics event at Lockheed Martin’s Eagan facilities on December 8th. Students had opportunities to look over robots used in last year’s competition as well as attend breakout sessions on design, wiring, programming, communications and competition rules.

Other members of the team will accompany Mr. Ullrich to a kick off event to be held at the University of Minnesota on January 5th. FIRST will announce the rules and specifics of this year’s competition at that time. The team will begin working on their robot in earnest on January 6th and will have six weeks to complete their project before the mandatory shipping date.
