Looks like your sprockets are misaligned; check to make sure that they are both in the same plane. Under normal operating conditions, the black coating wear off the sprockets a bit with use but there shouldn’t be significant tooth gouging like you see here.
Looking at this it appears you chain didn’t have proper tension which led to chain skipping. If it was misaligned then the wear would be mostly on the sides not the tips of the teeth.
I see the problem here-- it wasn’t black anodized for superior performance.
