Hey everyone,
Random question, but what cameras were used by the media personnel during the closeups of the drive team, and whatnot. It seemed very high definition, and almost a blueish type of tinge.
Thanks!

I don’t know the question to either but to clarify: During what time period? During divisions there was a much larger camera used on a dolly. During Einstein a mobile wireless camera was used.
During Einstein. I’m curious on the model.
Luckily for you I happened to see it ready to go, and snapped a pic of it! The image is a bit blurry zoomed in, but I can say the system is a Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 with (most likely) this Canon EFP lens.

Finally, the system was mounted on a Steadicam of personal preference, and the signal was pushed with a Teradek.
Happy shopping !
$8000… I always know professional gear is expensive but it still blows me away
Specs:
9 x Antenna - 2dBi WIFI 2.4/5.8 GHz
Good thing it had a channel assignment far away from the field ones (yes it was being monitored of course).
Ha! I also noticed on the big screen it was struggling to keep a good connection. So many people using phones in the convention center.
This is endemic of teradeks. We don’t use them professionally in most arenas and opt for live u bonded cellular. Teradeks have ruined more than one (non-robot) event due to their tendency to router hop for fun and interfer with other elements.
I’d love to see a megalodon camera used at a competition.
Megalodon as in the mirrorless camera/gimbal Fox sports has been using for sports recently?
That would be sick.
Yeah. It was developed by guys out in Seattle. I learned how to do it a few weeks ago and it’s wild.
