I am an avid gamer and can fix many problems. Everything I do is legal, and I’ve never pirated a game. I am not about to pirate one just for a missing or corrupt .DLL file how can I fix it?
My error massege read much like this:
The application extension of MSVCP60.DLL
MSVCRT.DLL:_Ic_collate_cp.
is missing.
P.S. If you are one of those people that thinks that re-installing the game fixes the problem, it doesn’t I’ve tried four times with various settings.
P.P.S. Somehow I think I should just return the copy for another and stop going to my friends to satisfy my cravings.
When you uninstall the game, does it ask if it can delete saves, etc.?
If that’s the case, you might have to delete them. You’ll probably want to back them up though.
If you own the game, downloading it would be perfectly legal.
The DLL sounds like it was supposed to exist on your machine before you installed the game… When you say you go to other peoples houses to enjoy the goodness, are you installing your copy on their machine? Or do they own it as well? Have you tried getting the DLL off their machine?
Have you called Ensemble’s tech support? It’s most likely toll-free.
If all else, fails, exchange it and reformat (I’m kidding! :yikes: )
I’ve got Windows 98 on the computer, 7 Gigabytes of memory and all of the lastest video/graphics/sound cards. The computer is not the problem.
I’ve already re-formatted my whole hard-drive once (for other reasons) so the computer is at its optimum, and I defragment/check for other errors every other day.
To answer other questions I have deleted the whole game including the residual files it leaves in the system before re-installing after the third time.
Furthermore my system not only meets, but exceeds the requirments by a considerable margin.
I have not called Ensemble, so could you provide the number? I have a hotline to the people at Nexon, and I know the e-mail/telephone-# for Firaxis, but Microsoft tech support gives me the run-around, and I’ve never tried to contact Enseble Studios.
Email me and I’ll send you a copy of MSVCRT.dll. Or, edit your profile and let people send you mail. I’d upload here, but it would just be a waste of DB space.
In case you’re wondering, it is 100% legal to redistribute this file, so this would not be considered “pirating” in any way, shape, or form.
My problem is solved. World Peace is here, let us all bathe in the Utopia of electronics. And many thanks to rbayer. Many thanks. Many many thanks. Many many many thanks. Oh, well you get the idea.
