Robot munching on a tube
Wow… awesome. I should predict an imagery award with that crunching jaw of your manipulator.
thanks! we won the imagery award at the Silicon Valley regional last year.
Looks to be an awesome contender in this year’s game… and I LOVE the
“Our robot is hungry… for cake.” bit. It is my new background for a while
Very nice robot. Hope to see the dancing hat again this year. Maybe it can jump around with our lion.

I love the jaws!!! :] This is the first robot I’ve seen that has a mind of its own, and cool looking, too. Can’t wait to see your team at Silicon Valley.
are those lego tires on your rollers?
Yup! They are the ones off of the big wheels from the mindstorms kit. They were perfect for sucking up the tubes.
Now you know what “GOT ME” in my avatar :). Its a really funny picture.
thanks! we weren’t expecthing that cake. one of our mentors brought it as a surprise and we just had to have a pic of the robot eating it!
it sure will! our mascot will always dance with the other mascots! macarena time!
Yep!:]
the lack of helicopter awesome is a dissapointment, but i think this design looks sweet. What goals can you reach and what kind of arm is it (too lazy to really look at pics).
HELLOOoo from the North East:D
What an awesome job on this bot. Love the colors and the JAW Lots of luck to your team 100 hope to seeee yaaaa in GA. years ago we picked you as a team partner in Fl Think 98 or 99 . Hope you get to GA with this great bot. It looks like it can score a lot of points with that pickup.
MOE and TEAM 88 TJ2 :yikes:
Awesome robot! Tell me, how many ringers can you get on in the 2 minutes with it?
Yeah, our animator has some weird ideas…
We are in the 120 lb. class and can reach all three levels. Our drivers were able to pick-up and score a tube (leaning on the wall) about every 10 seconds. We can also remove spoilers fairly easily.
As to our arm, its basically just a welded aluminum triangle powered by a big CIM.
Good question. We might know if:
A. This robot was ever on a practice field.
B. We could have practice field pieces.
C. We had ever driven this robot before 5:00 Monday night.
The electronics were finished Sunday night, and we were trying to make the programming jump from prototype to final on Monday.
It would have helped if our prototype actually had all the sensors that our robot has. Oh well, it works.
That’s an excellent decal, very nice. And HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET DREAMWORK’S SPONSORSHIP?!?:ahh: :ahh: :ahh: Have fun at competition.
By being awesome, of course!
If I didnt have them, who would?
Haha very awesome. 1072’s grabbar has similar jaws, we refer to it as the angry dog, but we didn’t have time to paint it before ship =P
I wish we had a better picture of the OI. It looks amazingly professional this year.:ahh:
awesome looking bot this year guys
seems like you guys liked 2 speed last year and kept it up… hope to see you guys at davis
