Just wondering, are we required to use the suction cups we are provided with or can we use other suction cups if we purchase them?
Yes, you may purchase and use suction cups other than those supplied with the kit. Just be sure they comply with the flow chart (e.g. from an approved vendor etc.)

For the purposes of the FIRST competition, a device that creates a vacuum is not
considered to be a pneumatic device and is allowed. This includes, but is not limited to,
Venturi-type vacuum generators and off-the-shelf vacuum devices (as long as they are
powered by one of the Kit-of-Parts motors).
So yes, it appears that any vacuum components can be used, so long as they stay within other rules.
