Anyone know the name of the man who played the star spangled banner at nats and apparently the houston regional. I tried looking on the first site but it was as usefull as always. Thanks for any help.

Well, I think his name is Jesse Mcguire. Don’t quote me on that though. He played at the Phoenix Regional too. He also played at the 2001 world series (Diamondbacks). I think it is one of the best performances I have ever heard. It brought tears to my eyes. Truely beautiful!
Speaking as a fellow trumpet player… it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever heard. It was absolutely beautiful.
i played the trumpet for a few years too. i’d like to hear it again.
standing there listening to him, i had tears streaming down my face because of how beautiful it was. i really appreciate good musicians, and he was just amazing.
That guy friggin’ gave me goosebumps. I loved it, that’s all there is to say. I loved it.
Geez that guy was amazing. I was like oh, here comes a high note, oh, there it is, and then he went an octave higher by the end. So crazy good, I was in shock…
as another trumpet player i was totally amazed at the level of skill that he possesed…a very very good performance.
We were in one of the first matches that day so I was standing behind Galileo w/ the drive team…Jtosh and John I think laughed at me for crying…it was a fantastic performance:) Sorry, but I don’t know the name

He played at the Arizona Regional, and when FIRST saw and heard him, they asked him to come and perform at the Championship.
I’m sure that Jesse would love to hear from all of you who were so impressed by his playing of the National Anthem.
Hopefully FIRST will be able to get him again next year. I’ve never seen this many threads about the National Anthem at opening ceremonies. (I think its up to three)
He was awesome, it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and gave me goosebumps…Go Jesse and Hurray for the USA
i play three different instruments, and i have got to say, that was the best piece of music that i have heard in a long time that was performed as a solo. he has soooooooooo much skill.

As a rookie this year, Jesse was an AMAZING trumphet player I’ve seen. As well, Jesse played the star spangled banner song very well.
If you want it, I have a copy of this performance posted for download online. Sorry about the quality, it was recorded with a camcorder up in the stands, and the eagle started screeching briefly at the beginning. But this is the only copy I have found. Its an AIFF file on my iDisk: My iDisk

When he started playing I was half expecting it to be good but not great, than once he started playing and got into the song I was blown away, I hope he dose it again next year.
