I know MineCraft is a bit old now, but would anyone be interested in a MC server consisting of people from FRC teams? I host a server right now, and it was going to be for our team, but not very many people joined, so I was considering opening it up to all FRC teams if you guys are interested.
As a minecrafter, I would love to play on a server! I host my own server on my desktop and we get around 6 -7 people normally.
This has to happen now…
I host and manage several servers and one machine opened up if people would like
I host a server at 128.61.104.148 if anyone is interested in playing. It’s up most of the time, but i take it down once every 2 weeks for updates and giving my desktop a good night’s sleep.
I don’t personally host a server, but me and quite a few of my friends play on minecraft.hatchet724.net
It’s professionally hosted, etc etc. Everyone’s pretty friendly there.
A server I am 1 of 4 owners on is looking for new members!
mc.mine-rp.net
WE are friendly, and a nice bit of FIRST members and alumni are on this server.
If you do join, look for mad_grunt, that’s me.
I would love to join and I have experience with plugins and building and stuff. if somebody makes a frc server
My server is currently up at 128.61.104.148 if anyone wants to join. We already have some stuff built, but find your own area and you can start building.
its on CD now it has to happen but would need a realy big processor and al lot of memory with it:deadhorse:
I could buy a minecraft host with my own money, and I’m pretty good at server management. It’s just that I don’t know if it’s worth it.
I’ve ran several MC servers in the last few years.
I wouldn’t recommend running one during build season, just because you’ll pretty much be wasting money on a server with few people. At least, that’s what I experienced when I was on a team.
Second, DON’T purchase from a ‘dedicated MC host.’ Most of the time, they don’t use very good hardware, or are often ‘shack’ hosts. Just get a VPS (I’ve used DotBlock, but YMMV) and install the server application. DotBlock provides MCMyAdmin if you choose their MC settings.
As for the server itself, decide on what kind to make. For example, economy, PvP/Hardcore, etc. I usually use WorldGuard and make a spawn area, no matter what kind of server I’m running.
Hope that helps.
Yea, I know. I bought A dedicated MC server once and well, it went to waste.
Thanks for the name though, I’ll check it out.
This needs to become a thing.
I actually have multiple dedicated servers located in Dallas, Texas. One of them has room for a 4GB server. I would love to host one for the FRC community.
(I might even be willing to purchase a domain, since they are fairly cheap…)
Let me know if you guys would be interested in a full blown server.
I’m interested.
