one of these is an authentic SB50 terminal, the other is something else. anybody recognize it?
We had a bunch of those in our older SB50’s (?2006-2014range?) that I shrugged at and threw out. You’re sure they’re not a Anderson Tape & Reel variation?
Did they get shipped as KOP terminals at some point @Andy_Baker ?
It looks like a large version of the APP 45 amp powerpole contact. I’ve not seen one this big before. It’s definitely not a standard SB50 contact.
Andy B.
I have also seen these before in some some old battery connectors that I thought were from the KOP.
The SB50 uses the same contacts as the 75 amp PowerPole.
I believe those are older “HD” or high mating force SB50 connectors (they appear stamped rather than cast like new high force terminals). It sounds like those came installed in the pink SB50 connectors in the KOP years ago. We still find them every so often in connectors of older batteries. The odd square tab is visible when you inspect the connector. Not sure you can visually see the difference between newer cast high force and normal force terminals though.
