Hello All! My team and I were wondering a few things about [Andy Mark’s Servo] (See link) (Programmable Servos - AndyMark, Inc). The main questions are they legal for FRC use? I am assuming they are but we would like to be safe. Then if they are how are they programmed and wired? Are they plugged into the roborio or do we need the [Programmable Servo Programmer] (See link)? (Programmable Servo Programmer - AndyMark, Inc)
Feel free to add anything as any help is appreciated

Keep an eye out for a 1/2" hex version of our adapter that pairs well with those servos, coming soon. Our FTC teams are using the 3/8 hex version on everything right now.
Answered above but our understanding is they are legal (R501). It’s odd that FTC has more lax servo rules than FRC.
With regards to programming them, out of the box they can be run like any other positional servo via the pwm ports on the rio. If you want to set angular limits or change the mode to continuous rotation mode, that will require the programmer unit (am-3218).
For any servos in FRC, we recommend using a Servo Power Module - REV Robotics as servos will draw a few amps, and the roborio will shut down those power lines first in the case of a brown out.
As for mounting, the AndyMark servos do offer some integrated nice mounting for tubes that have a 1/2in grid holes such as MAXTube
REV also offers, some specific FRC servo mounts and shaft options, that while they are not compatible with the servos you linked to, they are compatible with the REV Smart Servo (which was the basis for the AndyMark one) and is still sold by AndyMark. if they are your preferred vendor.
I think you should check out REV’s ION Servo accessories Which give you 1/2in hex, 10-32 threaded mounting options, along with support for bearings. ION Servo Accessories - REV Robotics
