AndyMark 2024 - 2025 Product Releases & Updates

FRC Game Piece Pre-Sale

AndyMark has some exciting news to share! If you haven’t heard already, FIRST is allowing pre-sales of Game Piece 2, one of two official FRC REEFSCAPE game pieces, and AndyMark is the place to get it! We are honored to partner with FIRST yet again to get you these FRC game pieces.

By offering Game Piece 2 through pre-sale, you have the opportunity to secure game pieces early to hit the ground running (swimming?) right after Kickoff. We understand how crucial it is for teams to have access to the right components, and we’re excited to be part of this change. We also want to emphasize our appreciation to FIRST for being open to feedback and aiming to create an elevated experience for everyone.

More New Products

Be sure to check out these other new products that were released recently:

FTC Game Set

AndyMark is proud to be the supplier of the INTO THE DEEP game sets, working with FIRST to design and manufacture this product since 2013 has been an honor.

NeveRest Hex

Coming soon, NeveRest motors with integrated 3/8" hex shafts and 10-32 mounting holes. It’s the same FRC and FTC legal base motor with a much easier to interface gearbox for light duty applications.

Robits Compact Linear Slide

This second generation of Compact Linear Side has been redesigned from the ground up to be more robust and cross program compatible, not only will this make a robust lift for an FTC robot using our Robits build system, but it can also be used on an FRC robot as a light duty extension mechanism.

Cog Drive Kit

Inspired by linear mechanisms from Argos, this kit, when paired with 0.5” pitch Robits tube, allows you to extend and retract a second tube guided by bearings. The “cog” can also theoretically be used to extend standard pre-drilled box tubing commonly if you make a custom bearing setup.

Robits Turntable

This turntable kit allows you to easily build a small turret, it’s on 0.5” Pitch and uses 20 DP gears so it’s pretty easy to integrate to FRC, and it’s a perfect fit for Fuel

5 Turn Servos

More 0.5” pitch servo offerings, now available in 5 turn variants for precise control through multiple rotations.

Locking Cables and Connector Kits

Molex locking connectors were all the rage this year and we wanted to make it even easier for teams to get in on the action with pre-made cables, and kits to make your own.

Robot Parts Cart

One of my personal favorite newer products is the Robot Parts Cart. We have been using variants of these on CyberTooth for the past few years and we really think they are perfect for a team that doesn’t have the room or budget for a super pit but wants to make their pit space more functional and organized.

Game Piece 2? :eyes:

I’m more interested in the fact that you can buy a 20-pack for $274. Interesting to have only singles and 20.

looks like if you change to package qty 1 you can still get the discounts for other amounts between 1 and 20

I like. :grinning:

They explained in the blog post… 20 is 2 more than a full field and can be carried 1 at a time.

Anybody else see an issue with the shipping quote being half of the actual shipping price?

Edit: It fixes itself if you select a different shipping option and then reselect the original shipping option.

Interesting! Are you purchasing 40 (2 boxes of 20 perhaps needing double the shipping cost of the above estimate?)

I believe this is due to you going back to edit your order at some point after getting to this page previously (possibly quite a while ago). The old shipping price is listed at the bottom, the current price is at the top. It will update when you proceeded to the payment screen.

I really appreciate the pre-order availability for game pieces now (so we can avoid 2024 problems again) but it does kind of ruin the surprise that the game reveal gives you

Game piece 1: ubiquitous, at least in the US.
Game piece 2: FRC-specific, similar generic items commonly available, 18 on the field 9/side in auto.

Robots allowed to carry one of each at a time.

Good luck figuring anything out from that…

Does that mean the robot can carry one of each, or one total?

Is there a reason why these are only referred to as “PWM Connector[s]” and aren’t labeled as “MOLEX SL”? I feel like both of those would help teams more easily find the product.

I think one of each, so 2 total

on the following product pages:
Locking 2 Pin Connector Kits
Locking PWM Connector Kits
Locking 4 Pin Connector Kits
Locking PWM Wire / Cable Making Kit
The “Gold Locking Male Terminals” are listed as MOLEX 16-02-0077, which are the 30-24awg version, while the “Gold Locking Female Terminals” listed is MOLEX 16-02-0087, which is the 24-22awg version. There is an exception to the 2-Pin Locking Cable Making Kit, which does not specify the molex p/n, though the AM p/n for the male terminals matches the rest (am-5220)

Is this just a typo? If not, they are incompatible if you were to intend on creating a 22awg extension, which is what has become standard among FRC COTS electronics with pre-installed permanent signal wires, with the exception of the SPARK FLEX.

AndyMark’s website is actually really good for this. If you search “Molex” on their website, the Locking PWM Wire / Cable Making Kit’s pop right up.

Over the year’s I’ve found the search bar on the AndyMark website to be extremely well versed in displaying products that don’t exactly match your search term, but still knows what you’re probably looking for.

I don’t have anywhere to link, but I recall seeing it mentioned on here in the past that AndyMark actually monitors what people are searching for on their site, and if they notice people are regularly misspelling a certain item (for example, searching “Mechanum” instead of the listed spelling “Mecanum”, you’re still provided with a full list of mecanum wheels available), or that there’s another common term for a product they sell, they’ll update the search bar to know where to direct you.

I don’t see that issue, but uh… cries in Australian :smiling_face_with_tear:

We came out with the 3 pin ones first, and wanted to emphasize that for the most part they are backwards compatible with traditional PWM cables, but still included the part number in the description. With the 2 pin and 4 pin I agree it makes more sense to include Molex SL in the title, we’ll look into that.

Thanks for the catch, we’ll look into this and either correct the part number or the shelf stock (or both) depending on what the root issue is. The intent is obviously to use with the 22AWG that we sell.

Citation provided. Yes, we put a lot of time and effort into making search show you what you want, not necessarily exactily what you asked for.

FWIW, most teams use 3 pin housings regardless of if they’re putting 2 or 3 pins in, just so they don’t have to stock more than two types of housings.
My point is: they could easily be called “MOLEX SL Connectors for CAN & PWM,” and I think that would cause less confusion/more awareness of their uses. (Granted, this is just one person’s opinion, you’re the one actually selling the product :man_shrugging:)
