Nice Rick roll on the website, didn’t that fall out of popularity in 2006.
I think it’s negative reinforcement. They hope to dissuade us from snooping around for early leaks by repeatedly rick-rolling us. I don’t think it’s working just yet; it takes a certain level of stubbornness to build a robot in 6 weeks.
I wonder if there will be a hug of death or not. I know a few other mentors and I will be refreshing the page at noon. I am sure that is the same throughout FIRST.
Edit: I HIGHLY Recommend refreshing the AM website at the moment. They have really outdone themselves.
I’m thoroughly enjoying the minigame.
EDIT:
I just “won”… well played AM, well played…
ROFLMAO!
They’ve done this like 57 times, the last time they sported it was last year with the kop chassis thing. There’s always the slim chance someone will find something though.
Waiting…
Aah its 9:02 (pacific- 12 eastern) and it’s still not up
I think I was just Andy-rolled.
AndyMark is proud to reveal our new products just in time for the 2018 FIRST Robotics Competition! We’ve taken a lot of customer feedback over this past year, and we’re excited to deliver many products that the community has been asking for.
AndyMark RedLine Motor and Accessories
(Stop me if you’ve seen this already.)
We give you the AndyMark 775 RedLine Motor. A fast and fierce 775-class motor that FRC teams know and love, capable of delivering immense power in a small, lightweight package. This ball-bearing supported, air cooled motor is best used in high-speed applications where the motor will not be stalled for long periods such as shooters, conveyors and intake mechanisms. With sufficient care and attention to your application’s traction limit, this motor has proven effective in FRC drive applications as well.
We’ll also be selling a variation of the RedLine that comes with a steel 12 tooth, 32 DP pinion already pressed on. Not only does this take the risk of damaging the motor during pinion installation out of your hands, it also means that this counts as a COTS part in FRC, and bringing these as spares to your competition won’t count against your weight allowance for 2018.* We’re also selling this pinion on it’s own as am-3657.
*Assuming teams have a weight allowance for 2018.
The 775 Vent Plate Spacer is designed to be placed between an AndyMark RedLine Motor or high power 775 motor and the mount plate of a gearbox. It allows air to enter from the side and pass through the motor via the vent holes in the front face of the motor. Allowing this airflow typically requires machine time and customization of gearboxes. This simple lightweight spacer is the perfect solution for motor preservation. Also available for 550 motors, such as the AndyMark 9015 or BaneBots 550 motors.
The RedLine Encoder Kit is designed to adapt the new AM Mag Encoder onto the backshaft of the RedLine Motor. This 1024 count-per-revolution high precision encoder, capable of sensing speeds of up to 30,000 RPM is an easy solution for teams seeking an integrated encoder solution for their AndyMark RedLine Motors, as well as other high-powered 775 motors. Included in the kit is a magnet adapter, mount board, screws and the AM Mag Encoder itself.
CIM Sport and 57 Sport Planetary Gearboxes
The CIM Sport and 57 Sport are the latest innovations in high performance planetary gearboxes from BaneBots and AndyMark. These gearboxes feature numerous improvements over previous planetary gearboxes used on FIRST Robotics Competition robots. AndyMark and BaneBots are so confident in the strength and reliability of this line of gearboxes that we guarantee that they won’t fail you when it matters most. Due to the size and quality of these American made, cold formed steel gears in addition to the specifically selected available ratios, we are confident in guaranteeing these gearboxes will not fail in competition.* Available in many ratios from 4:1 to 100:1, the 57 Sport includes mounting hardware for any 500 or 700 series motor including the AndyMark RedLine, the WestCoast Products 775Pro, and more. The CIM Sport comes with the neccesary hardware to install either a CIM or MiniCIM motor - with a choice of whether or not the team desires to cut the motor shaft down or not to save some weight.
*Please see disclaimer on the product pages for more details.
Working for me. I just had to click on Andy 3 times.
DeCIMate Gearbox
The DeCIMate gearbox comes with two AndyMark RedLine Motors to give you a total package about the output speed, size and weight of one CIM motor, but with almost 700 watts of power! Use this anywhere you would use a CIM with it’s identical output shaft and mounting geometry. Also available un-assembled without motors for teams who either already have motors, or only want to use one motor.
New PG Gearmotors
The Planetary Gearbox (PG) series of gearboxes and gearmotors feature robust planetary gearing inside paired with reliable motors. You asked for it, we delivered. This gearbox now features a 0.500" and 0.375" hex output shafts to easily attach to 1/2" and 3/8" bore wheels, sprockets, and other motion products without the need for special adapters. The PG27 Gearmotor includes 775 motor with integrated quadrature encoder, simplifying feedback control.
EVO Shifter For RedLine
The EVO Shifter for RedLine is our newest edition of the EVO Shifter, AndyMark’s next EVOloution of a shifting transmission gearbox for competition robots. It’s design was developed from the lessons learned during our experience using the AM Shifter since 2004, the Super Shifter since 2007 and the Sonic Shifter since 2013.
This transmission is a two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox, using an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method. For this version, the gearbox accepts up to four 775 class motors, such as the AndyMark RedLine Motor.
Note: The EVO Shifter for RedLine will only be available in one ratio and output shaft (which protrudes 5 in. from the output face of the gearbox,) configuration for the 2018 season. This particular configuration is specially optimized for use with 4" diameter wheels. AndyMark does not recommend using this ratio combination with wheels larger than 4 in. in diameter, at risk of permanent damage to the motors.
EVO Slim For RedLine
The AndyMark EVO Slim for RedLine single-speed gearbox is a high performance, lightweight solution for a robust drivetrain gearbox. The EVO Slim line of gearboxes share many common parts with the EVO Shifter, including some of the weight relieved all steel gears and aluminum plates. The EVO Slim gearboxes ship with the am-0801a Toughbox Long Hex Output Shaft as standard, but teams can switch out the shaft for any other Toughbox Output Shaft (sold separately.)
This configuration of the EVO Slim accepts up to four AndyMark RedLine Motors for a significant power-to-weight ratio improvement as compared to CIM-based gearboxes. The ratios available for this gearbox are primarily optimized to be used with 4" diameter wheels.
New 4" Performance Wheels
The 4 in. Performance Wheel is a virtually indestructible wheel made out of solid 6061 aluminum. This competition-proven design has been used on FIRST Robotics Competition robots for many years. This new iteration of the wheel has been designed to keep costs down, as it is made from a custom extrusion instead of being fully machined from billet. This wheel can take anything an FRC robot can throw at it, and much more. This new version also includes a 1/8 in. thick boss on the rear (flat) side of the wheel to prevent the wheel friction against bearing outer races, as well as reduce part count on drivetrains.
Also available in Bearing Bore and 8mm Nub Bore.
New #25 Sprockets
We’ve added a few new low-cost single #25 18 tooth and 24 tooth 7075 aluminum sprockets in a variety of bores. Available in 1/2" Hex, 1/2" Key, 3/8" Hex variants that are great for high torque drivetrain applications, as well as 10mm DD bore options perfect for use with the AndyMark Snow Blower motor for light duty applications.
Button Board Kit
Want a customization button layout for your robot driver station? Of course you do! Build the custom driver station of your dreams with the Button Board! This bundle includes numerous inputs, a computer interface, and every wire needed to connect it all up. When plugged into a Windows computer, the controller will show up as a Generic USB Controller and can be seen by the FIRST Robotics Competition Driver Station. Want to use switches you already have in the stockpile? Using the controller board, you can wire up any switch you’d like to create the perfect controller.
BattHawk™
The BattHawk™ is designed and manufactured by Muncie/Delaware Robotics, FRC Team 1720, PhyXTGears. BattHawk™ is a voltmeter which can take the place of a battery flag. It measures the battery voltage without discernible drain during a robot competition time frame. This product is especially useful for rows of batteries. When testers are plugged into each battery in the line, the status of all batteries is always visible. This allows for monitoring of the charge of each battery with just a glance. The purchase of the BattHawk™ helps fund ongoing efforts for FRC team 1720.
Walnut Extrusion
Walnut Extrusion is the latest iteration of the nut-based structural extrusion line. It follows the design standards of Peanut Extrusion and expands them to a 2x1 profile. Walnut is an easy to use structural extrusion perfect for building strong, 90 degree joints without gussets. The profile has an end profile of 6 holes for 1/4-20 self-threading screws on a 5/8 in. square grid pattern. The added rib supports are positioned to flank the pass-through bolts that thread into the adjoining extrusion. These ribs provide extra strength and prevent the side walls of the Walnut from being crushed by over tightening these bolts.
6" SR Mecanum Wheel
We are proud to offer AndyMark’s latest and greatest 6 in. diameter Mecanum wheel. This wheel’s features are a culmination of our hard work in developing the Mecanum wheel since we introduced an affordable wheel to the market in 2006. This latest version was updated in the fall of 2017, and is an improvement on our previous HD (Heavy Duty) version. It has the same heavy duty features, but with an added smoothness while rolling. We minimized the gaps between the rollers, enabling this wheel to be our “smooth rolling” (SR) Mecanum Wheel.
There are plenty more products not covered in this overview of our new products that are available for viewing on the AndyMark website. We’re very excited to bring these new items to teams in time for the 2018 season, and wish everyone luck in FIRST POWER UP!
Sincerely,
-Nick
For team’s considering this motor versus the WCP 775pro, can someone at AndyMark help highlight the differences?
I’m pretty disappointed to see this marketed as a COTS drive train product, with no stock code/tutorials on how to make sure you don’t burn out motors, or big flashing warnings all over the product page.
For most teams that are reading this, don’t risk your season by putting 775pro’s in your drive.
-Mike
