Angle of ramps?

While trying to calculate some lengths for our robot, we had to deal with the angles on the ramps to the defenses. In the rulebook, the ramps are at a 13.5 degree angle, with a 3 inch height and a 12 inch hypotenuse. After trying to figure out how to work with this, we realized that it’s impossible. However, in the solidworks model, it has a 14.5 degree angle (which does work). Am I safe in assuming we should use this, instead of the rulebook? And has anyone else found similar mistakes?

The dimensions in the manual don’t seem to match 100% what the field drawings and on-field measurements give. Check out other posts about this.

Are you having trouble CADing the parts, or making a robot that can go up 13.5deg?

If you take the thickness of the sheeting into account, you can get much closer to this angle. Working backwards, A 12" hypotenuse at 13.5 degrees would be 2.88" off the floor at the high end.

Also remember that the field NEVER matches the drawings to within stated tolerance. Especially if you design specifically for it.
