Announcing ChatFRC

We are excited to announce ChatFRC - specialized chatbot designed to support the FIRST Robotics community. ChatFRC is powered by GPT-4, one of the most advanced AI models currently available. We’ve equipped ChatFRC with knowledge about all areas of FIRST - from general info on awards, team organisation, electrical, software, hardware to specific knowledge of the WPI Library, OnShape, and more!

While it is still in early days, we’re excited to launch the beta today - complete with the latest knowledge from the 2024 game manual. Our goal is to enhance ChatFRC’s precision and expand its knowledge base, ensuring that it remains an invaluable resource for teams.

Thank you for making this website! I think tools like this have the potential to be helpful in the future for finding FRC knowledge quickly, but currently it is more frustrating/inaccurate than just manually searching the game manual. In the context of game rules, while it sometimes produces correct results, it often claims that it cannot access the 2024 game manual, and it can also give incorrect responses. For example, it said that a note in the speaker scores 2 points in auto:

Giving it more information from the game manual might help, along with making sure tables and similar information are formatted correctly.
