Team 3604 - The Goon Squad is proud to announce the first inaugural Goonettes Invitational! An all girls off-season event held on September 14, 2019 at Woodhaven High School in Woodhaven, MI.

This event will aim to promote STEM education and training for young girls and provide an opportunity to increase female participation and close the gender gap in both FIRST and STEM.

The Goonettes had a “blast” at the Big Bang event this weekend! While there, we handed out our first three official invitations to some of our earliest applicants!

Congrats to teams 6914 Retro5ive, 5050 Cow Town Robotics, and 2620 Southgate Titan Robotics! You are all in!

Many potential applicants have been asking about the cost to compete at the inaugural Goonettes Invitational.

The cost will be $200.

You may be thinking “where does this money go?”
Well, it will first go toward the cost of the event. Beyond that, all money raised will go toward increasing access to STEM careers for even more girls!

Now that sounds like a well spent $200!

The application for the 2019 Goonettes Invitaitonal is officially “closed” (although you can still apply and will instantly be placed on our waitlist).

Whether your team is competing or not, you are welcome to show up, watch the competition, visit our Hands on Hallway, or sign up to volunteer on our website!
If you are too far away to join us in person, we will be streaming the event live, and will provide more details on that later.

The Goonettes Invitational is go for launch in T minus TWO WEEKS!

We are less than ONE WEEK away from the Goonettes Invitational and we have an update to our team list:

Unfortunately, team 7174 - ProtoBots will not be able to make it.
However… Team 862 - Lightning Robotics - will be taking their place

23 out of 24 teams have accepted their invitation thus far!

On Friday, is the “pit setup” line just meaning event staff are staying until 6: teams need to be out the door by 5, or can teams stay until 6?

Teams need to be loaded in by 5p because there is a home football game. Once you are in the building you can stay as long you want.

Team 910 - The Foley Freeze, will no longer be able to compete.
Team 4854 - Trobots, will be taking their spot.

This should be the final update, as all teams have officially accepted!
