AP Research Survey

Hello!

I am releasing a survey I have created for my AP Research class together with data regarding FRC. I would appreciate it if anyone interested would take 5 minutes out of their day to answer these questions to the best of their abilities, and as honestly as possible. At this time I am not planning on releasing any details about the project, or the data received. This may change in the future.

– By taking this survey you consent for your answers to be used in an ongoing AP Research project, all answers will be used anonymously. –

Sounds good! Should the answer be given as “specific to the 2022 season”, or some level of “average over the past few years?”

I am unclear as to what question you are specifically asking about, but every answer should be referring to the current status of your team.

There were a handful describing team funding, number of students/mentors, mentor involvement… all of which I expect have probably shifted for a lot of teams over the last two years. I know they have for ours. But sounds like your intent is to capture a current-snapshot.

I answered with “most recent/today information”, rather than considering any historical data.

I would like to warn you about overlapping options. Things such as 1-5, 5-10, 10-15 etc - if a respondent has 5 or 10, it’s unclear which choice to check.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am unable to change this issue without changing my data, and would prefer not to. I would prefer people taking this survey to select the smaller group in this situation, but as I failed to specify farther, the answer best to the takers judgement is more then good enough.

I’m a student in AP Research as well and am currently in the midst of releasing my survey. I have some other recommendations/questions regarding the survey itself.

  1. Is your school/teacher requiring an informed consent for the survey. Especially since you are working with minors.
  2. What is the nature of your research? I think you should at least include that or your research question so people know why you are doing this.
