i’m excited. it will be fun to play with some of the teams that i’ve seen at lone star and the bayou. i’ve been wanting to get a closer look at 1501’s lifts too
Impressions:
-I’d watch for Woodside, team 100. They have a great scoring machine coming from the West, and also got scoring in autonomous down. Their grabber is awesome.
-Pink and the Poofs meet again. Both of them have amazing scoring machines. Watch out for them if they team up.
This is all I can recognize from what I’ve seen, but this division looks impressive.
904 didn’t have the strongest showing at West Mich. We’ve fixed that and we’re going to bounce back hard. (Just an FYI.)
Indeed. Knowing the defense at the last few regionals, you can bet that strategy will be high enough that you will not easily be left alone. Ramping will be a necessity (Think about it: if defense is strong enough that you can score maybe 16 points, ramping for 45~60pts is going to be huge.)
We have Beatty, BOB, and Chief Delphi. 3 robots that can grab and have ramps. Plus they’ve done well at their regionals, IIRC. Put big stars next to these teams.
I would not be surprised, in fact, if there was nothing breaking 200 at all of nats. At least half of the teams going are regional winners. 2/3 of the other half is chairman’s and engineering inspiration award winners. Even if they didn’t win a regional, 5/6 of the teams there will have it together.
This is probably obvious to those who have gone. For those of us that haven’t: Buckle up. This, I’m suspecting, is going to be a particularly exciting year.
Teams to watch: Element, Rush, The Chief, Hammond, BOB, R.O.B.O.T.I.C.S., GUNN, Pink, Poofs, Dragons, Martians, Digital Goats, THRUST, and how can I forget - Precision Guessworks. We’ve had some trouble at our regionals, looking to put that behind us and make this the real deal. Watch out for us, our ramps will be working and our drive will be pushing thanks to an easy wheel switch out.
i am so exicited i just hope we are done with the radio problems cus that has hurt us at both ucf and vegas in finals but gooluck and see u next week and watch out pink is coming lol see ya can’t wait to play with you all and agianst
Looks like a tough division though. The number of great hangers/hybrids is better than the number of good ramps. The teams that are there are all very good. I already have started my pick list.
If anyone in Archimedes wants to collaborate with team 494 on scouting we would love to introduce you to our system. Please PM me if you want more details.
This will be 179’s 3rd year in a row in Archimedes. Each year we lose to 217 in the finals. Thank God they’re in Galileo… Last year we beat them the first match, but they got us twice after that, then went on to win the whole thing…
Check out my regional performance ranking sheet, to get a feel for how the teams in Archi did at their regionals during seeding.
I don’t think its safe to assume the Veteran teams are going to do well. There will only be 6-7 seeding matches most likely. Therefore anybody can make it in the top 8. There are a lot of strong high number teams in this division, they have the advantage with the match algorithm pairings. Therefore they will most likely be putting together the alliance that goes to Einstien. Scouting will be at a premium. Its hard to judge 86 teams in just 6 matches. Better do your homework people!
A lot of robots from Davis/Sac, Really excited to be in this division We got our robot consistently scoring 3-4 tubes a game we fought hard against 100/997 alliance just didn’t get enough offence oh well at least we lost to the winners. Maybe a return of the cotton candy alliance? 233/1323. All teams just remember to ask what can blue to for you?
