I have been watching many of the week one events and attended one of them. It seems to me that a lot of teams are having trouble picking up balls at higher speeds because their feed system does not have enough time to grab them before the bounce away. Is this a correct statement or am I missing something?
Probably just differences in the carpet and the drivers going to fast
Define “originally.” If you mean that robots can’t seem to intake Fuel as well as they did in their reveal video, that’s normal. That’s expected even. I haven’t heard or seen anything about the Fuel that makes it significantly different from the Fuel teams have been building and practicing with all season long. If the linear speed of teams’ intakes aren’t faster than the speed of the robot itself, they won’t be able to intake while moving. That’s just a rule of design. Teams that failed to follow that rule will fail to intake Fuel while sprinting across the field.
We have not seen any change as the competition wore on.
I feel like it will get easier as the season goes on, but it does seem like it’s more difficult right now than originally predicted.
