I could not find a specific place where the manual states you cant retrieve a game object from an opposing station. I want to believe that I just didnt look hard enough. Anyone see a rule that forbids this?
Doesn’t seem like there’s any rules that specifically prohibit this, but you do have to be careful about contacting an opposing robot that’s fully in the Hab Zone. Also, you aren’t allowed to extend outside your frame perimeter on the opposing side of the field so any mechanism you have for collecting game pieces would need to be fully inside your frame.
I just did a brief search to confirm and my understanding is that there are no penalties for interacting with your opponents loading station. The loading station are however part of the HAB zone so contact with an opposing robot will draw a foul or a tier 3 climb in the last 30 seconds
The foul is only for robots fully contained within the Hab Zone, not just breaking the plane like the Null Zone last year. There’s much less risk associated with it, but it’s still risky.
I’m guessing there will be an early Q&A on it, and it’ll either be made illegal in an early Team Update or it’ll be explicitly ruled legal (assuming you accept the risk of being in your opponent’s Hab Zone and don’t extend past your frame perimeter). My money is on being explicitly legal, though I’ve certainly guessed wrong on GDC Q&A responses before.
Technically its a FOUL (if they extend) and if after they pick it up retract and leave then thats it …just a foul
Hatch Panels scored are 2pts Fouls are 3pts …so not seeing the value exchange here ESPECIALLY since Foul points received are the #1 tiebreaker in Eliminations
And the only unlimited source of points this year in any case.
