Arizona Regional

So are ya guys going!?!

A couple weeks ago I told a few people that there was no way we were going to be able to go unless a miracle happened.

Well, Team 696 the Circuit Breakers of Clark Magnet High School in La Crescenta Khaleefornia, is proud to annouce that a miracle has indeed happened. We will MOST DEFINITELY BE IN ATTENDANCE! I look forward to seeing you all again. Before the event happens, we (CD users attending) will have to work out something whacky we will wear so we can recognize each other.

The event is going to be Awesome. Has anyone looked at the team list lately? I see teams registered from Ontario Canada, Mexico, Alaska, Ohio, Indiana, Maryland, Massachutsets, and of course Arizona and California. That’s three different countries and seven different states.

And they are all gathering in the middle of the desert for the most fun period of three days anyone has ever experienced.

One more great think I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned, is that the Veteran’s Memorial Colliseum is even bigger than the Sports Arena in LA, yet there are only 2/3 the teams. Can someone say “pit space”

DANCING HAPPY DANCE I’m putting your post in team email. We have new students wondering, “What are we going to be doing? Why do you love Phoenix regional so much?” They’re going to find OUT!!!

ALASKA!!?? :yikes: Way cool!!

Oh and Ryan… sorry i was never able to send you your shirt… guess i’ll just have to give it to you in person… hey, it saves on those little shipping costs.

FYI AZ.
Our UCLA college anthropology team doing a communication study of our team is talking about attending Phoenix regional as journalists covering the event.

Good news!

A small research team from CEU (College of Eastern Utah) is going down to the Arizona Regional as part of the process to figure out if we can get a team going out here in the middle of the black hole for FIRST teams. There are no teams in the state of Utah right now, but may there be one (or more) in the next year or two of we can get the buzz going in the right ears.
We are really excited…

See you all there!

Team 973 is going this year for the first time. We are all looking forward to some great copmetition and meeting new teams. But we AREN’T looking forward to the 10 hour bus ride from california.

Cheryl,

Please let me know if I or Team #64 can help in any way.

The leader has Jason Morrella’s contact info, and was going to contact him about getting a journalist’s benefits, and she didn’t feel the need for me to arrange things for her. She hasn’t mentioned it to me since, and they missed last night (when they said they’d be here). I’ll ask them about it next time I see them. Thanks!

Our rookies get on our team email during build season. In addition our mentors are on call at the shop, on cell, and at home during build season. We don’t have to be your mentor to have all that happen for you WHEN you get a team going. Feel free to lean on us as part of your support team.

We had a student videographer at last year’s Phoenix competition. Can you believe we only NOW got a copy of his high school project. It’s about our team, but it has some views of other things at the competition and you may want to take a look.

WARNING 88mb quicktime movie, may take 10-20 min to download.link

Ok so all the CD people definately have to hang out sometime at the competition. Maybe we could meet at the team party or something. I have no idea what is around there and I don’t remember the venue that well so does anyone else have any suggestions?

Also, who is submitting their chaiman’s award there? I was just wondering which teams were.

(Sorry I edited because I put some info in that was not good soory!)

Team 60 will be submitting a chairman’s there.

Ken you guys are awesome, Im the only student on the team thats been there since you guys started us in 2001, and team 64 has never once left us when we needed help, Thank You! Remember If you guys need anything were there for you too! ( - ) taking the Monkey!

Thank You for such a Awesome Day At the Duel In The Desert!

Sandrag:

Any more thoughts about “something whacky”?

Sandrag - we can help you with that. Can we sand and rag you?

Eerrrrm, I’m not sure what exactly that means. Must be a beach thing. I was thinking more along the lines of an orange hat with my CD username on it. But I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to that.

I have an SME leash and card that is covered in buttons. I guess you could call it whacky because I am the only one I have seen all of last year and this year who has one and wears it. Those SME cards must be worth at least a couple hundred on the street these days. Oh, and the CRyptonite 624 button on it. There are less than a dozen known to exist in California, one of those would go for a couple G’s easy. OH, and the 2001 Clark Kent button. I have the only one known to be in existence currently. That button can not even have a price put on it. There have been reports of one other Clark Kent button spotted but this has not been confirmed. And who can forget the yellow Viper button of 2002. It is a legend. Most have never even seen it. A small item but very very high value (in the high hundreds).

Gee, look at what I am saying. I hope I don’t get jumped for my neck leash, SME card and buttons.

But seriously, though, I have been offered a whole mess of trade items for those Clark Kent and yellow Viper button. No joke.

This year, we had misprint run of PURPLE Cirucuit Breakers 2004 buttons. There were only 7 of them made! If you get your hands on one of those, consider yourself a very lucky person.

Oh gosh, I’ve gotten off topic again haven’t I. I’ll make up for it, don’t you worry.

kinda like tar and feather only sand and rag instead
