Armadillo

Did anyone see one of these?

I did.

Yes, I see one almost every day…though it is usually dead on the side of the road…

Hell yeah I saw one of those…

It was about 2:30 in the morning, and me, a few guys from my team, and two guys from 203 were talking in front of our hotel building (herbie 7 at all-star movies) when we noticed an armadillo outside the entrance to the building. We chased it into some bushes, then through the halls of our hotel before it finally dived into a wet bog behind the hotel.

I should have brought this one back to michigan. saved his life. gave him some corn. petted his hard shell. he would have been happy here. i don’t think he would have fit in my suitcase, though.

i was amazed and my team thought i was weird

Yep, got to see one. It was funny too, because my S.O., Eric (an engineer) and Griffen (a student) were in the middle of snapping each other with wet towels when Eric started yelling for us to turn around. We thought it was a trick, so we wouldn’t turn around. Finally, in a pained voice, he yelled “Behind you!” and we looked just in time to see it run into some bushes. Pretty cool!

Never look a gift armadillo in the mouth without first offering it a breath mint.

yeah they were lurking around everywhere. there was one at our hotel by the pool. i thought the majority of them lived in texas…i guess they decided to migrate.

We saw one, but then again they are a common site in florida. You will see at least ten of them laying on the side of the highway on the trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando. I’ve heard they make good pets if you dont mind them burrowing into your couch…

Mud_Dauber woke me up while I was sleeping in my hotel bed to show me his video that he had just taped of an armadillo. The same picture posted above.

I saw one every night well I was done there it was the first time I had ever seen one in person it was great one of my teammates was trying to take a picture of it the second night we were done there and it come out of the bushes and then repositioneed itself sort of like it was posing for the pic it was so cool sorry to anyone who was actually trying to sleep that night at all star sports hoops 2 building that was another one of my teammates trying to get the armadillo to come out yelling gargatrola or something like that at about 1 in the morning:p

O we saw a racoon too…

we tossed the racoon a mcdonalds french fry it was hillarious

its hard to see the armidillo, but its the center right part of the pic

Yea, i saw one… and i saw some rabbits too… the rabbits are much cuter tho… but definitely not as cute as the women… grin

I shared my breakfast one morning with some baby duckies and a crow. The crow was especially pushy!

We had Swamp Rabbits everywhere and some very friendly White Ibis

The weirdest wildlife I saw at Port Orleans was a Mole Skink crossing one of the walkways ( a nearly legless lizard found only in the Fla highlands). I couldn’t grab him though- but I tried!

Well, I almost shared my bed with a very large Palmetto bug (also known as an American Roach or a flying cockroach): http://entweb.clemson.edu/cuentres/cesheets/hhold/ce180.htm

We came in late Friday night and there it was sitting on my pillow, waving it’s antennas around, trying to look cute so I wouldn’t kick it out of bed. Of course, it went into a cup and over the side of the balcony. I guess I should have checked to see if anyone was down there, but I didn’t hear any screams, so…

Disney’s hotels are bugged!

Wow… thats… gross…

I also saw the armadillo outside the Herbie hotel during nationals. The funny thing is that we were at the Lone Star Regional in Houston and did not see any at all. I was shocked to see one in FL, but not in TX.

Did you mean a real armadillo or the mascot that was running around? There was a blue armadillo from a team with a number around 860, I think…

i saw a dead one
