At-Home Trap Counterweight?

We are looking to make the at-home version of the trap. In the directions for it, it calls for two 8" pieces of 1-1/4” Schedule 40 Black Iron Pipe as a counter weight for the flap. Unfortunately we don’t have any of that lying around, so I was wondering the actual numerical weight needed so we can replicate with materials we do have in the shop.

This has the requirements listed. Based on the price, I might recommend just buying these, especially if you don’t have an easy way of accessing/cutting/working with steel.

For some reason it didn’t occur to me that AM would have the info for the weight. Thanks

Material: Cold Rolled Steel

Seems a tad bit overkill considering it is just a weight, but may be down to whatever was available in warehouse/cheap/offcuts.

If you don’t have material my vote would be just to go dig through the offcuts at the local machine shop for something close. You will probably get within 10% of where you need to be just with what is sitting around in the piles and not have to pay for a cutting change.
