Well this is my last year as a high school student in FIRST and I dont want my experience to end because of college so I have been talking it over with many people about getting Purdue university to get a team going next year.
I will be calling up the dean and talking to people as soon as I know that we will have the members. If you are attending or will attend Purdue next year or if you have contacts please contact me.

Thanks,
Kris VanKleek

I have some suggestions of folks at Purdue to help you get started:

Dean Stevenson (judge at Midwest Regional)

Mike Ciavaglia (grad student at Purdue, member of our team on leave to get an MSME0
Ann McCarthy (intern at Delphi, never been on a FIRST team, but a very well connected ME undergrad)

I think with a little more pressure we can push Purdue over the edge. We (me and several others) have been working on them for a number of years now — I think they are about to crack

Good luck.

Kokomo is only an hour away from West Lafayette, so if you need
any help from the TechnoKats (Team 45), let any of us know. We
could easily pack up a robot and haul it over there for a demo.

Also, one of our past team members is attending Purdue. Her name
is Mary Pat Stahl, a freshman EE major. Look her up!

Good luck,

Getting Purdue going would be great. And how about the other Big Ten schools (Michigan, etc.).

I could see it now - the Big Ten Conference uses FIRST as an official sport. They start giving out scholarships to high school team members to join their team. What a concept!

I am determined to get a team down at purdue. Like most of the students
that have been in the competition for four years, they know what it is
like. I might go through withdrawel.
