Australian Team 5333 Robot Reveal and Code Release

Joining in the Reveal Threads, here’s some shots of our Robot, with some details on the Code aswell.

Size: Not Small

Drive Train

  • 4 CIM Rhino Drive (custom CNC plates)

Intake

  • MiniCIM Direct Drive
  • Capable of with-holding a boulder, and ejecting it up or down into low goals

Shooter

  • 2 Shafts of 6-inch wheels (MiniCIM direct drive each)
  • Power: Hella (overshoots the high goal @ 5m distance at 100% power)
  • Makes a hefty growl

Electrics

  • 6 Talon SRX, 1 Talon SR
  • Raspberry Pi 2 Coprocessor (originally Pine64, but changed due to driver support)
  • Arduino Mega 2560 for pretty LEDs

Other cool mechanical stuff

  • Plenty of free space on the back for a ‘secret attachment’
  • Bumpers are reversible without requiring velcro

I really wish I had more photos but our Robot is already in a crate ready to be shipped to Sydney for the Australian Regional. We can’t wait to compete and see what other teams have come up with.
