Autodesk part library

Hey guys! I’m a member from 6353 Zodiac. Our team currently uses autodesk inventor to cad our robot, and a large parts library e.g. gears downloaded from andymark would help a lot. I’ve been searching and found an autodesk frc library called klib only to see the website it was provided on, grabcad workshop closed down. I wonder if anyone still has the resources to this library, and please let me know if there are any alternatives, thanks!

The google drive folder for the COTS library we used prior to this season can be found here. It’s not fully complete, but it has some useful parts, (gears, compliant wheels, some fasteners, electronics, etc.) most of which have correct textures/materials/masses. We created this library in November/December after trying to use klib in November and running into the same problem.

We use CacheCAD for version control this year. I’m not entirely sure what the process of sharing the folder would look like through CacheCAD. In the linked google drive folder, there are multiple folders with the same name. This is an artifact of how CacheCAD handles things.

It’s by no means a substitute for klib (at least, from what I’ve heard about it), but it’s what 1622 is working with.

Hope this helps!

Edit: sorry meant to reply to the thread

MkCAD is available for OnShape, you could use it there and then export the parts you want.

There’s also Spectrums CAD Library. This was on GrabCad but it’s also on GitHub!

thanks guys! We’ll try out those libraries. I really appreciate you guys’ help. Good luck on the 2024 season!

We are trying to get using CAD more this year (Fusion 360). During the offseason, we started putting together a “Materials Library” consisting of Mechanical, Electrical, kits, etc. Pre-assembled Neo’s + 1/2/3 stage gearboxes. We had to go and hunt down CAD from suppliers or use reference stuff from places like Grabcad. We maybe got about halfway done before diving into robot design, so there’s been a bunch that’s been added to the library as we go along but it would have been nice if it was there before.

That said, this would be a very good off-season/pre-season thing to do with your team.

This is the current unofficial download link, I havent gotten around to refurbishing the library since the GrabCAD workbench shut down, but there is a plan in place to restore it and fix the leftover bugs. Sorry for the delay!

wow thanks! this is fantastic
