I am working on the Autodesk Visualization Contest. The software that should be used is 3dsMAX but are gmax visualizations also accepted. Both products are made by Autodesk so I’m not sure.

These are essentially the same apps, except gmax is a crippled version of 3dsMAX that’s geared towards game models.
Just use 3dsMAX and I would imagine you can just export your gmax files and do a lot cleaner and photorealistic rendering.
