Autonomous techniques

Our team has been discussing what autonomous methods we can use to get the most balls in the low port as possible. Our initial thought was to line up against the side of the field and go dump the initial 3 energy cells. Than go pick up the 3 in the trench and go dump them. We did some rough calculations about how long it would take us to do that and It seems possible but relatively unlikely. What do you guys think would be the next best thing to do? We plan on using the trajectory generation in wpilib.

Also what do you think the best of the best teams will be able to accomplish in auto?

You have to line up on the initiation line, not the side of the field, so there is drive up time to account for.
I think with a well programmed robot you should be able to do the six balls.
