Every team got $75 in “AWS Promotional Credits” in the virtual kit this year. It appears that those credits are intended for use with AWS Educate.
My question is whether anyone knows if those credits can be used with other AWS products, specifically Lightsail. My team is working on a scouting tool that we would like to host on Lightsail and wondered if we could use those credits to offset the cost.
So, there is a lightsail example in the console, but when I click on it I get a 403 error. And I tried adding IAM permissions, but I don’t really know how. Notably, Lightsail is not listed in the services supported in the Educate starter account.

AWS Educate is having serious issues with non-FRC users misusing their platform. I would not recommend using AWS Educate.
AWS however is still a fantastic platform, and I will link a thread on here in the coming days on how to get free “normal” AWS credits for use with SageMaker/machine learning.
So if I make a new AWS account, and try to use the voucher code, it won’t be valid, is that correct? It’s only for use when creating an AWS Educate account?
You are correct. It will be a different process for a new AWS account.
