Axis Camera Issue

So we have a Axis 206 and we followed all the steps that your suppose to do to set up the axis camera. We changed the IP to 192.168.0.6 as indicated and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. But then when we open the Axis Camera Setup Tool on windows it would constantly say it can’t communicate with the camera, we did type in our team # in the Radio text box. We even pinged our camera through cmd and we were successful didn’t even lose a packet. Back in the Setup Tool we clicked on the green LED circle which tells us of other IP addresses that it has found in the computer, and we see the Camera’s IP right infront of us, the tool is detecting it but can’t communicate. Whats the problem? We are clueless. Thanks in advance!

Where do you see instructions to set the computer’s IP address to 192.168.0.6?

We even pinged our camera through cmd and we were successful didn’t even lose a packet.

At what address did you ping the camera?

Back in the Setup Tool we clicked on the green LED circle which tells us of other IP addresses that it has found in the computer,…

What version of the Setup Axis Camera Tool are you running? The version ID is in the window’s title bar.

How many IP addresses did it detect?

@Alan Anderson
The instructions were in Labview—>Tutorials section. I forgot which tutorial it was in since I’m home but it was called something like “Setting Up Axis Camera”. I don’t remember what version were running but im 99.9% sure its the latest since its the one that came with the utilities Update. We also did do all the necessary Updates such as the Labview Update and Driver Station Update for this year

@Joe Ross
It detected two IP addresses. One was 192.168.0.6 and I think the other IP address it detected was the Wifi IP address( Don’t really remember what it was)

We are having a similar problem. With the camera plugged into the Classmate, I get as far as applying our team ID with the LED still lit and successfull created username “FRC” and password “FRC” and “successfully changed the IP to our team ID” and “the camera is now ready to be connected to robot radio”, but the LED for the “Camera found at 192.168.0.90” goes off within a few seconds. If I reset the camera, it happens all over again. Any ideas?

The indicator should go off after the camera is successfully configured as it is no longer at that IP (192.169.0.90).

If you think of IP addresses a bit like phone numbers. You are talking to the camera at 192.168.0.90 and you tell it to change its IP. In order to do this, it hangs up and you now have to call it at the new number, 10.te.am.11. So change the computer IP to 10.te.am.05 or 06 and type the camera IP into the browser.

Once you change the camera IP to your camera now has the IP address 10.38.01.11*. You now should change your computer’s IP address to 10.38.01.5 (Drivers Station IP Address). You will be able to find the camera at the address given previously.

  • It’s either 10.38.01.10, or 10.38.01.11.
