Bacic Presentation For 1st Year FRC Students

I made a simple presentation to explain how robotics Robotics Comp.pdf (33.0 KB) compititions work and how to prepare for our newbies this year. (I know we are into week 3 but our first comp is this week) Any suggestions?

I would maybe add that apps like The Blue Alliance or FRC spider are good apps to have to check rank and upcoming matches so they do not have to carry around a paper.

At our past event (yesterday) I know I used, as well as at least three other team mates, The Blue Alliance and/or FRC Spider. The ones who had access to it found it to be helpful. I used them to help look at what teams could climb (and what teams were likely to park) before matches and passed that information onto the drive team. I was also filming matches for our drive team, and used it to know when I needed to head up to the balcony to film. We are a Rookie Team and I hope other Rookies will find these apps in time for them to be helpful. I’d also add that teams should (if they can) find and use an app for scouting that works for them. We had to use paper for some of our previous scouting and we went through way too much.

Might also be worth mentioning that there is no Wifi, and is illegal to turn on Wifi, so don’t turn on Wifi. Assume you’ll be without internet all day.
Depending on location cell phones might have difficulty connecting to towers so contacting people in general may be difficult. Telling someone face to face is the only foolproof method.
