Bad Robot 8.0

Here are a couple of videos of Shelby (Bad Robot 8.0) in action. The roll cage was not mounted when we shot these, so we were not picking up from the floor, but we were otherwise very happy with the results so far:

Boy is it different for us to be able to spend a lot of time driving the robot around, scoring and such the weekend before ship. Usually it is more of a mad scramble. And once the roll cage and minibot deployment were mounted only 103.4 pounds!

Wow… hard to believe it has been 8 years for 1014!

8.0 is looking very nice and congrats on finally getting some practice time with the robot this year. A little bit of tweaking and you look like you should be in great shape.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it to St. Louis this year with the team I am now mentoring, but if I do and Dublin is there I’ll make sure to stop by!

Kevin

Thanks Kevin. We actually used some of the knowledge (both of what went right and what went wrong) from Bad Robots 1.0 and 2.0 in designing this year’s robot. Hopefully we’ll get to see you in St. Louis.
