I’m wondering how many teams are in the same boat we are with the ice storm that just hit Michigan? We have no electricity in most of our community and school was closed Monday and will be closed Tuesday. We were not allowed in the school on Monday and are hoping to get some practice in on Tuesday to do a few tweaks before Locking it up! Hard to lose the last couple days of build, especially with all the other bad weather this winter. But, as long as we get it bagged tomorrow, I will be happy! How many others are disliking mother nature more than a little right now?
Dear snow,
Go away, I don’t want to see your ugly mug until next December 24th.
Sincerely,
Cold and Sick of Digging His Mini Out
Agreed. Just got word that our high school still does not have power. So we will be locking was Sunday, today!
Here in Baltimore and Washington DC. We just got hit with a nightly storm and we are digging about 6 in of snow this morning.
Snowday here too. I think were going to sneak into school tonight for our final meeting before we bag the robot.
Yes, we were given permission to be in the school as well, but our school is still out of power. So, it won’t do us much good other than to lock. We are still hoping power is restored prior to practice time, but it isn’t looking good. Good luck with getting in and working on yours!
I’m not sure how much snow we got on top of the ice last night. I am heading out to check soon.
Good luck to all teams!!! Happy ship Day!
I’m from Ann Arbor Public Schools.
From the looks of the storm, it seemed as though we would lose a Monday due to a snow day (school building usage policy). Luckily, our school district is currently on Mid-Winter Break, so we we couldn’t be affected by the storm. For once, I’m glad we didn’t have a snow day.
Roads in Ann Arbor are pretty bad, and some streets have yet to be plowed. However, the snow stopped coming on Monday morning.
Here in traverse city we just barely were missed by most of it so we are still working but it was still pretty bad sunday night monday morning ,one of our team mates slide off the road and hit a few trees fortunately he wasn’t harmed
