We submitted a BAE Grant for 2014.
We have not heard anything yet.
Has anyone heard updates from BAE ?

I remember last year the decisions were delayed. But they did send out an email with the decision and post a final team list. so…who knows
I sent them an email about the timing and they told me within the next two weeks they will post this year’s list of recipients. Good luck!
BAE is dispersing grants internally a little different this year, so its just a speed bump.
Hello…
I work for one of BAE Systems S2 (Support Solutions) divisions.
I’m also a mentor for team 1610. BAE has a web site for First
robotics although they don’t update it often. its here…
You’ll notice that it has the link for this years current application (for 2014)
you’ll also notice it has this past years BAE teams list (2012-2013)
The past years team list wasn’t fully shown (early this year it showed
some teams who got BAE grants, but not all ) and it didn’t show all BAE teams
who got grants until well after this past years season ended.
I suppose they will update it when the new team list comes out.
One thing to keep in mind…while BAE has a somewhat standardized way of
handling the grants, the grants tend to be handled a little differently from
division to division depending mainly on the people who do this for that division of BAE.
(I work for S2’s Ship Repair (in particular Norfolk Ship Repair)
and Ed Ketz oversees it there).
We were notified March 5, 2013 that we would not be receiving a 2013 grant. We chose not to apply this year.
Must a team attend a BAE affiliated event to have a better chance at obtaining a grant?
Joe,
I would assume that to be true.
Our Hawaii regional is a BAE regional, and via our local BAE Systems office in connection with NH, Hawaii teams have gotten support from them since the inaugural 2008 Hawaii regional.
We’ve averaged $1250-1500 annually as of late, but as high as 10k for 2008 when we won the RCA and for participating as a Hawaii team.
Just another reason for us to come to your regional, right, Glenn?
To team up?
Sure!
I always think back to 2010 Arizona, when we had the chance…but, oh wells…
There is always the future.
Has anyone heard any updates as of late? My team had applied for this year, but we never heard anything.
We just now received notice that we have been awarded a grant for 2014. The amount is the same as last year, which as a 4th year team, we are more than happy with!
Thank you BAE Systems!
We just heard from them as well and we are also now backed by BAE Systems. ::safety::
We received notification that BAE will continue to support us this year with a grant.
Thank You BAE!
Received the email overnight as well. Thank you BAE!
I didn’t even know there was a grant for BAE systems. I didn’t take part in much fundraising back on MAiken Magic either. I though we were a BAE team because we literally a stones throw away from their local Defense plant. Interesting stuff to see.
2468 is very appreciative of being recipients for the third year in a row of a BAE grant.
Norman
BAE has been a long time sponsor for Team 1729 and we’ve been tremendously grateful. Does anyone know if they are opening up a grant application for FRC teams this year? Our associated FLL teams have been in contact with them about grants but I haven’t heard anything on the FRC side.
I think this is the place: http://www.nhfirst.org/baesystemsgrants
It doesn’t reference a year, so it could be a leftover, but it wouldn’t hurt to apply either way.
I know for a fact that they are open this year, my old team is applying once again. If you need more details I can get you in contact with them.
